What are the main differences?

Capacity

Standard battery –
If the standard battery has been in the dealer’s store for a long time, retention of the dry charge is bound to be adversely affected. Your replacement battery could need to be recharged a number of times after filling, in order to deliver its full power capacity.

Factory-Sealed battery –
Full capacity is guaranteed, because fresh batteries are regularly supplied to the dealer, who will maintain good stock rotation and thus ensure that the replacement battery will deliver full capacity from the start.

Filling

Standard battery –
If the correct type and quantity of acid is not poured into the cells, and if the user doesn’t wait for total absorption of the acid before sealing the battery, then capacity loss is inevitable and early battery failure most likely.

The filling operation is carried out in the factory under very strict conditions, and is a critical part of the manufacturing process. Full battery capacity is 100% guaranteed, because Exide place great importance to every part of the production system.

Charging

Standard battery –
If a standard battery is filled correctly, but not correctly charged before installation, this can leave the replacement battery poorly prepared for use. When installed in a motorcycle which could demand heavy electrical loads or produce poor alternator voltage, the battery will never reach a sufficient level of charge. Thus the replacement battery will never achieve 100% capacity, and its working life duration will be substantially shortened.

Factory-Sealed battery –
Full battery capacity is guaranteed because factory-filled batteries are fully charged during the commissioning procedure at the end of the production cycle. Battery life is significantly extended compared to a standard battery, due to the meticulous care taken during the manufacturing process.

Deep discharge/Early failure

Standard battery –
If your particular power needs regularly exceed the available capacity of the original equipment (OE) battery which comes fitted to your bike, then use of a standard replacement battery could potentially provide an even lower initial power capacity. This often results in deep discharge and early failure, considerably shortening the life of the battery.

Factory-Sealed battery –
Full battery capacity is guaranteed right from the start, therefore deep discharge and early failure can be virtually eliminated. Your replacement battery will return reliable service in all conditions for a much longer product lifetime.
